I recently got a brand new Motorola E398 and found out that the phone might have originated from Hong Kong, and I have a couple of questions:

1) Is there a way to change the firmware to an American E398 so that I could access MEdia Net (I have Cingular) and do other things an American E398 can do?

2) Are there any advantages to having my current firmware?

Any and all help is appreciated, thank you in advance.
