Is there a difference between DVD-R and DVD+R? When I try to copy to DVD+R, I get an error message.

It might just be your burner, what's the model? The diff is that you can booktype with DVD+R, which is making it to DVD-ROM, the Universal booktype so it can be read by all players.

I am new at this, but I have a Piomeer and a Samsung burner. Not sure what models they are but they are supposed to be DVD+/-RW. I am using Nero and AnyDVD to copy.

I appreciate the help.

You should make sure that your burner is compliant with what type of media. Sometime a firmware upgrade will make your burner more compliant with newer types of media. Look at the firmware version that you have and then check the firmware update site listed in my signature. Just follow the appropriate links to locate your burner and see if there is a firmware upgrade. If there is download it and install it.

If you do a search at this forum on updating firmware you will find lots of information, but the firmware update site should be able to help you deal with media issues.

Post back what you fine out - or even the model and firmware version of your burner and we can assist you.
