DVD Ripping with WinAVI 7.1

Hi all,
I have two questions about using WinAVI 7.1. I love the speed and the quality of the resulting video conversions. My first question is when I convert my DVDs into WMV format. I can set everything how I like except the "Quality" slider bar isn't movable. I try to move it from 90 to something like 70 but I can't move it. How can I move this slider bar to something besides 90? My second question is. I am trying to copy The Interpreter. The video is 720x480 and I want my videos in 320x240 WMV format. Except that the aspect ratio is lost. I want to preserve the original aspect ratio and make it 320x240 by it putting a letterbox for to keep the aspect ratio but I don't see this option anywhere. Thanks a lot for the help.
