I have copied a DVD to my harddrive using dvd decrypter, but when I try to burn it to a DVD it says Device not ready (medium not present) but I have a DVD-R in the burner.
On the right side of the DVD Decrypter window: what is the manufactuer ID for the disk? What is the name and model number of the burner? What is the firmware version (right after burner model and number)?
mattbyrne,
You said your burner is DVD-R, can you check whether you are using blank DVD+R? If you dvd burner is only DVD-R burner, it will not recognise R+ format dvd disk.
@henryting
He said that he has a DVD-R IN the burner, meaning he is using -R media.
I think a firmware update would probably fix this problem, sounds like a firmware problem.
You ripped files to a folder on your hard drive. The other option is to rip to an iso image file. If the files are too large to fit on a single layer dvd you will have to use DVD Shrink, Nero Recode, or some other program to reduce the size of the files or the resulting iso image file. The newly reduced in size files or the iso image file can be burned using DVD Decrypter, Nero or any number of other programs. DVD Decrypter can only burn iso image files. If your burning to a dual layer disk, you should use the ISO Read mode of Decrypter and not Files. I'm assuming you are new to all of this, so please read and use the guides cited above.
I just meant that according to the DVD Decrypter user guide on this site I should be looking for a .DVD file after I copy the DVD to my hard drive, but there is none. Maybe I copied it wrong.
This is my first time using this. Thanks for your patience.
