I'm very new at this. Actually this is my first time trying it. I took a bunch of pictures of the kids, put audio with it and made a slideshow movie with Windows Movie Maker. Can anyone tell me what i need to do to burn this to a dvd that will play on a regular home dvd player on a TV. I got it to work once using a trial version of video workshop to convert it, and TMPGEnc to finish the job and burn it. But now that i downloaded the full version ($39.95) i cant for the life of me get it to work again. I wouldnt care, but the trial version has there logo spread over the pictures in the slide show. Please help, and remember, this ALL VERY new to me.
That is the trouble with Windows Movie Maker...You make something with it and about the only way to watch it is to play the thing on your computer!
So what you need to do is convert the files over from what I assume are .wmv to DVD-Video files.
I've used Ulead's Video Workshop a long time ago, is that the one you are talking about?...At least I think I used it.
I use Nero Nerovision Express for slideshows and converting them to DVD. It is about the easiest way I know. It accepts the .wmv file extensions, or whatever WMM makes for file extensions.
What exactly are you having a problem with? Most of these type programs have a browser of some sort that you use to find the files (your slideshow) you want to convert. Once you put them in, you go through whatever options there are, like adding menus, effects, etc. After that is done you simply burn to a DVD.

Released late last month, the TSUNAMI MPEG DVD Author Pro software has a nice set of features and support. It's main purpose of course is for authoring DVDs from pre-encoded files. It accepts input of MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 video, VRO, DVR-MS and pre-authored DVD Video. It supports input and output of MP2 and AC3 audio as well. It includes the cut-editing capabilities that TMPGEnc DVD Author does, allowing easy cutting at frame level. It has excellent support for adding chapters. It can also create slideshows and gives the user lots of options for effects to use. It has several pre-built menu's and has great menu editing capabilities. It also has a fit-to-disc transcoder, it's own separate DVD writing tool and can burn to Dual Layer discs.
I did a slide show using Plus! Photo Story. I tried to add the music that I downloaded from Napster, but was a no-go. I'm using a DVD+R to record digital photos of the kids and want background music. Should I start over with other software? What music is downloadable to my computer and burnable to the DVD+R? Can I add music to the program I have already used/purchased. Thanks
