I just installed a qoob pro in my NGC. I have 1.3a bios, gcos ripper. I tried my 1st backup of mario party 5 and I'm having no luck. I have the iso, I burned it at 4x 1st, then tried 2x...the qoob says disc is not a game! I adjusted the POT to 199 ohms, should I go lower? What else could it be? Is it the ripper I'm using?

help is appreciated

Did you burn the iso properly? Put the disc in your PC and try to open it. If you see the iso file sitting on the disc you didn't do it right.

when I burned a game like that with the iso file just on the disc, it said "disc is not a game" but then when i go to boot it the game still plays normally. using this i was able to play backups on my qoob sx without having to upadte the bios. (but i ended up updating it anyway)

yes I burned the iso properly, I used recordnow max, global image method, same way you burn xbox iso's.

Did you make sure to finalize the disc? And I don't believe I've seen anyone recommend RecordNow for burning GC games.

1) Verify the filesize of the game. If it's even 1 byte off, it's not right.

2) Use Nero. There may be other programs, but Nero is the one which is tried, tested and works.

3) Make sure to finalize the disc, or it won't work. If you forget and leave it open, it simply will not work right, if at all.

And if all that fails, what kind of condition is the original in? Clean and mostly scratch-free, or or dirty and looks like Hell? It could be that you're not able to make a proper 1:1 rip, because there's critical data being lost to a deep scratch or blemish on the disc surface.

Recordnow max works with iso file's, all I've ever had was problems with Nero, but I'll try it. post back if it works. the OG disc does have some scratches, but it plays just fine in the cube.

Well Nero worked on the 1st try, thanks. I'm gonna figure out why recordnow max didn't, I think it was set to cd mode xa for cd and should have been set to cd mode1 xa for dvd use. If I get it working with RnM I'll post a guide.
