I'm using the DVD to SVCD with TMPGEnc guide to back up Shallow Hal. I get up to entering the bitrates, but when I try to enter my Max andd Average bitrates TMPGEnc sets them down to 2520 kbps when they should be as follows:

Avg: 2735 kbps
Max: 2521 kbps

But it accepts:

Min: 1149 kbps

Does anyone have a solution?

ok the maximum total bitrate for svcd is 2778kbs but this includes the audio track which tmpgenc creates at 224kbs so 2778-224 is 2554kbs
so i can only assume that tmpgenc sets the maximum video bitrate at 2520 as a safety measure, the maximum total video bitrate for svcd is supposed to be 2600
the only way to go above with tmgenc is to load the unlock template from the extras folder in the settings templates folder, but if you increase the bitrate chances are the movie wont be svcd compliant

well you could try and recalculate to fit onto less cd's but the quality will suffer or set max bitrate to 2520 and average bitrate to slightly less maybe 2200 this will produce shorter files but the quality wont suffer too much, this is entirely up to you.

In the end i set them to:

Max: 2520
Avg: 2520

and it worked.

Thanks for all your help
