I assume that you already have your xbox modded, so ftp into your xbox and install dvd2xbox as an application.

but u might not want to unless u have a different hd than the xbox stock. cuz xbox hd is 8-20 mb. most of it is used up already, u need more space to put halo 2 on it.

ftp is a way of transfering files frome your pc to xbox by connectin your pc to ur xbox directly with a crossover cable or through a router with normal patch cables... u also need a ftp program such as flash fxp.. thats what i use its real simple to use.... i recomend upgrading ur hard drive in ur xbox. each game takes up about 4 gigs...
if u need help with doin that let me know ad ill help u .....

i probably should have asked u this first but do you have a chip??? if so what kind??? what dashboard do u have??

yeah put dvd2xbox on your xbox you will need a cross over cable and to link your xbox to your computer then copy dvd2xbox(which you should of already downloaded)to your xbox.then run dvd2xbox on your xbox insert halo2 and click copy to HDD.

@drewdan i think your signature is already too long.somewhere in these forums it says to keep it to 10 lines.

Is anybody else having problems copying Halo 2 to Xbox? I get 2 maps that will not transfer with either dvd2xbox or the other utility and the game will not load from HDD. I have a software mod on my box.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Convoke.

Well since everyone seems to want to save Xbox games to their stock Xbox HD I'll give you a small little tutorial.

Step 1: First off your Xbox has to be softmodded.

Step 2: Then make sure that your xbox is connected to your computer via hub or crossover cable.

Step 3: You will need the program: Flash FXP on your computer. You can get it at http://www.downloads.com

Step 4: Then you will need to turn on your Xbox onto your modded dashboard. Make sure you know your Xbox's IP address.

Step 5: Place the disk in your disk drive.

Step 6: Go on your computer and open Flash FXP. Click the lightning bolt then scroll down to Quick Connect. Then where it says Server or Url type your Xbox's IP address. Where it says Port it should already say 21. And For your User Name and Password should both be the word Xbox if your Xbox is set to the original factory settings. Then click Connect. On the left you should see files pop up. Open the D folder and inside should be the games files. Make a folder on the left side named watever game your using. Then drag the files into that folder from the left to right. It might take a while.

Step 7: Then say your using Halo 2. Click the back button then enter the E folder. Inside should be a folder called Games, open it. Then create a folder in there called Halo 2. Assuming your modding Halo 2 Multiplayer maps, copy over all the files except the Campaign maps which have numbers infront of them which makes it easier. If you have the stock HD the campaign maps wouldnt even fit if you wanted to put them there so for now until you upgrade your HD thats fine.

Step 8: Now restart your Xbox. Go to Run Applications. Click Halo 2. Start playing and your ready to Mod!

Hope this helps all you new modders!

I have just put halo 2 on my hard drive but as i only have the stock hard drive i had to remove files for it to fit. Halo 2 is 4.5 gig so unless you know how & what files to remove or have an upgraded hard drive then i would not bother trying it as it will not fit.
But if you do know what you are doing then ftp your game to your pc and remove files that way, then ftp it back to your xbox hard drive in the relevant folders.
I'm rubbish at explaining so if you want more help then pm me.

Hey what kind of crossover cable do we need ? ... I can't get this damn router to work with the Xbox :s ... Crap I just saw the reply above about FlashFXP gonna try that ... (-UPDATE-)I don't have a single clue about this router it's a Linksy's Wireless B router and i can't get it the 2nd ethernet port " the one that is hooked to xbox to work , . So About this crossover cable does it allow the modem/router to share the same line ? P.S. I have UnleashedX on the box and I'm able to play DVD-R's so I'm happy for that :)

Yeah it works with a router. Try not to use it with a wireless connection because it goes extremely slow.
