This may have been covered but I can't find any specific reference to the swap magic fix files. I have been to the site and read their help topics but I still don't quite understand. I understand you need to download the fix files and burn them with your game, but where do you put the files? Do you burn the fix and the actual game files in 2 seperate sessions? Do I really need to use Alcohol 120% or can I use something else? I have only burned 2 games so far and neither of them have had to use fixes so a step by step would be great. If there is another thread that answers my questions could someone please point me to it? Thanks

What version of swap magic are you using?

Basically if you're using 3.3 or 3.6, if a game won't back-up with simple method.. then it just needs a rebuild to work most of the time... you can find a thread about patching/rebuilding at the top of the forum.

I'm using 3.3. I was just wondering because someone mentioned in here before that the first place to go before burning a game was www.swapmagicfix.com. They have an extensive list of games and fix files to use with them. When you download and unzip these files, they have a .bin and .cue file that they say you are suppposed to use. I guess I'll just try to burn a few games the straight forward way and see what happens. Thank you for your responses.

The swap magic fix site is either outdated or ill informed anyway in a few cases... I noticed a game it had on there said it needed a fix or something... I backed-up the game with no probs with a straight copy.
I think the info they have is user submitted though..so that could be why it was bullsh^t.. ;)

I was referring to this by the way..... http://www.swapmagic3.com/Swap_Magic_Compatibility.asp

Anyway, just do a search on here to see if anyone else has had trouble backing up the game and if it needs a rebuild. If you can't find any info on whether it needs a rebuild, then do a straight copy...if that doesn't work post back on here and we'll try to give you help and inform you if it needs a rebuild.

good luck

I don't know... I haven't got the game yet... If I had an answer for you I would have replied to your thread about this.
