I keep getting DNAS error code -833 (Region Error) when trying to play the following backups (patched).

Tiger Woods 2006 (NTSC)
Burnout Revenge

Tried different methods, but still get the same problem!!

Driving me nuts.

Any ideas?

Cheers

I have the same problem. cant get my backup of Burnout Revenge to go online, always dnas 833 error.

I got a PAL Slim PS2, game is US version, is that the problem? can it be solved?
I used the following:
Burnout Revenge (SLUS_212.42)
(Size = 4,247,124 bytes)
Disc ID = XX XX 02 30 BC

when I look into the Image, the SLUS is correct, but the Size seems to differ, I only got 3.650.453.504 Bytes in the image file
I used WINDIP to patch.

any ideas?

thx

I have the same problem with Burnout 3 Takedown. I have an Japanese NTSC PStwo and would like to play my original U.S. Burnout 3 game. I can't because of that DNAS error.

I also have a burned copy (to try before I buy) of Burnout Revenge and DNAS authentication just hangs.

To clarify I would like to plat my U.S. copy of Burnout 3 online, but I keep getting a DNAS error. Offline works perfect.

Same goes with revenge, but DNAS just hangs on authentication.

From what I read, the DNAS problems people have is that they are playing a backup game on their PS2 and need to inject the DNAS code of an original game disk before burning it.

Well my DNAS problem is related to the fact that I want to play a U.S. NTSC game on a Japanese NTSC PStwo console.

Does this mean I have to copy my original U.S. NTSC game, inject a Japanese NTSC code, and burn it on DVD.

Anyone know where I can get a Japanese NTSC Disc ID code for Burnout 3?

Big fuck you Sony for preventing me from playing my ORIGINAL game disc online on my Japanese PStwo.

Anyone can confirm this or give me some pointers on how I can play my original U.S. NTSC game online on my Japanese NTSC console, it would be appreciated.

Both Japan and the U.S. use NTSC.

I just found this in the PS2NFO faqs:
Quote:
9) Is there any way to play a USA game on-line using a PAL console?

YES. When logging on the server, both the Disc ID and the Machine
IDs are authenticated. The Machine ID includes a REGION algorithm
so that PAL consoles can only connect to PAL lobby servers for
on-line play of a PAL title. Attempting to play an NTSC (US/JAP) title
on-line with a PAL PS2 console will result in an -833 DNA$ error even
when the LEGAL back-up is properly patched... this is due to the
Machine ID authentication that also occurs when connecting on-line.
With the above stated, YES using the PS2 Machine ID Changer. ;)
I'll try this right now, and'll give you feedback.

edit: just found out this doesnt work fort the ps2 slim, which i have. no chance here.

Oh fuck this. Because I have a Japanese PStwo slim, I can't play ANY NTSC multiplayer games even on an ORIGINAL disc????

Fuck YOU SONY.

What about taking an NTSC U.S. game an patching it with a Japanese NTSC DNAS code?

My PStwo slim is an NTSC model just like the American PStwos.
