Hey all, it seemed like this was the best place for this, and I searched for my answer beforehand, but did not find it.

Anyway, I've been out of the loop as far as modchips and such for quite some time, but upon using Alchohol 120% and others, I'm noticing a "PSX" option. I was just wondering if, no matter what you do, or weather you're playing them on a PSX/PSone/PS2 if you still needed a chip, or if there are better ways of burning them now that would allow them to play just as they are?

I would think not, but since the newer programs seem to burn things so well that were once impossible, I figured I would check, since I have a lot of PSX games I still play, and a few are starting to be worth something, so it'd be nice to not have to worry about them, ect.
thanks for your time!

There is no way to direct boot backups without a modchip. If you want to play PSX backups, you need a modchip:http://teammodders.com/ps2_mc.php?ex=2 or Breaker Pro: http://breakerpro.com/ I use Breaker Pro with a flip top and it works great.
