Hi, I wanted to know if there was a way to play PS2 backups online. I heard about Disc ID utility and all of that, but my original was broken, so is there any other way of finding out the Disc ID, or be able to play online with my backup? Also, is there a web-site that has a list of Disc ID's for PS2 games???

Thanks!!!!!!!

Which game is it? You can't play Socom 2, 3, or EA games online at present. They have added security checks that prevent backups from being played online. Disabling the modchip should allow you to play online. What modchip do you have?

I dont like mod-chips they always ruin everything! I just use Swap Magic! I gave up on mod-chips.

Well... I'll agree with the SOCOM 2 and 3 part, but not necessarily the "EA games" part ;)

Can you play EA backups online at present? I'm just going on what I have read. I thought they had added a new account security check or something which detected a backup and made it impossible online.

You do have to create an EA Nation account for stat tracking and stuff with EA games (well, excluding Battlefield 2, which uses Gamespy), but all it does is a simple DNAS ID check, which we all know about quite well ;)

It's the latter two SOCOM games which have problems: after signing on (the DNAS will verify and everything), you get a "cheat device" message upon trying to create a new profile online. Tough luck.

Hi, Im having problems playing Burnout Revenge backup online. It keeps saying the same error you get when you use a backup without patching it. But I patched mine, first I tried with Image patcher, and then with Disc ID inserter. Image patcher said it patched successfully, but Disc ID inserter, just gets errors when trying to patch. Does anyone know what I can do? Or of any other program I can use?

Thanks!

the reason i got that error was beacuse i never patched my game...maybe you patched your game with the wrong DNAS code. Try using
XX XX 02 30 BC. I use windip to patch my games and it works fine.
