Just thought I'd share some joy with everyone here, seeing as all of your postings helped me so much.

I recieved my Qoob Pro chip last week sometime and was terrified of putting it in. I've never soldered before, and was going to wait to have a friend do it. Somehow, I got the guts and dove right in. First try... success! Beginners luck if you will.

I then ran into some trouble getting backups to work, dug into the forums again and found out about changing the pot. Did that, and BAM! games are working on Fujifilm dvd-r's.

So, thanks for your help. Give yourselves a pat on the back for jobs well done!

I spoke to soon.

I've messed things up, big time. Is it possible to get just the wiring harness that comes with the Qoob chip? I managed to pull the blue ones out when I was putting the top of the case on. Hurray for me!

Try fixing it. If it's one of the one's that just go into a terminal, you could probably repair it.

One option, one I have had to employ before on a different botched job, is go get thin piano wire from RadioShack, and perform a cardiac bypass (solder one end to the blue wire portion that came out of, I assume, the white clip of the harness, and solder the other end to some good point on the QOOB board where that particluar wire is to make contact to. I would also think you might be able to repair the harness itself. who knows.

I tried to solder onto the qoob board itself, still wouldn't work. I just gave up and ordered another one. For sale: Qoob Pro chip, slightly modified. cheap!
