Getting Tommy Boy DVD to transfer to iPod 30gb player

I can copy and backup dvd's, but having alot of issues getting the correct files to play on iPod. I did a surf movie, but when transferring the quicktime file over it plays the directors cut, not the main movie. If I decript the movie it then puts the movie into three files, how do I avoid that? In a nut shell, what I would like is to play my dvd's on my video ipod and I know how to convert to quicktime. Thanks!

There is an iPod forum that you may like to ask your question, as for myself iPods are out of my league, maybe a moderator can move this thread for you, cheers and good luck.
