I'm play the original metal gear solid from ps1 on my modded ps2. But when I try to save the game on my ps2 memory card it says "no memory card found". Do I need to put in a memory card from my ps1 into my ps2? Is it possible to save ps1 games on ps2 or are you only able to play them without saving? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

PS1 games have to be saved on a PS1 memory card, yes.
it is weird that way.

Of course, the slots didn't change, just the internals of the cards

Yes, but only ps1 games, ps2 game saves are usually too big, and i think most ps2 games, in turn, don't recongnise ps1 memcards.
