UsbAdvance on memory using ps1?

I have read the very extensive installation guides for putting various programs on your memory card for easy booting, and I think I'm able to do it, my only problem is I'm cheap, and don't want to "waste" money on stuff.
So I have been looking for easy/cheap alternatives, and found USBAdvance, which is free. Now my only problem is how to get USBadvance onto my memory card, and I don't really know anyone, afaik, who has a ps2 with a bootchip, I however know a guy who has a modded ps1.

So, my question after my short essay/story is as follows:

1. Can I use a ps1 to transfer USBadvance to a memory card, either a ps1 or ps2 memory card?
2. Is there another way to do it, without a bootchip or at least saving me alot of money :) (I don't think there is, but if there is I would like to know)

In the end I would just like to know if I understood the whole thing correctly:

1. Compile a usbadvance cd, through Idependence Compiler Program.
2. Have it run on ps2 or(hopefully ps1 will work :) )
3. Insert the original ps1 cd from where you copied the Slus-number from
4. Enjoy games from your harddrive

Correct? I know it's not really anything, but this is how I understood the guides, and just wanted to make sure I understood the overall lines of it :)

There's no way to get USB advance to work with a PSone. You can boot a backup of HD advance or HD loader with a MC exploit. Use the exploit guide from L-Burna: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109289

No, I think you misunderstood my question...

My question was wether I could use a PSone to load the USB-advance/USBExtreme software to a memory card :)

Not to a PS2 MC. Maybe to a PSone, I'm not sure if you can use PSone MC to boot .elf files though. I doubt it, but I'm not positive.

You can use the ps1 game to triger the mc and load advance but you will need swap magic to load it to the mc that's what i did

Yeah he wanted to know if you can use the PSone MC with an exploit, I don't believe you can. The MC exploit doesn't work with the v.11 PS2 and later.
