I've made hundreds of backup dvd's using shrink and nero. I had a HP300i which I just switched out for a BenQ DW1640. I made the switch thinking my problem would be resolved, but no. I've tried multiple programs, updated firmware, etc. The problem is no program will make a backup. I've had several different messages like : "UDF File System Parsing Failed!" "Failed to write dvd 16." And many more. I use Ridata and Verbatim media. Since installing BenQ all of the programs complete successfully now, but the disc wont play. I'll leave my last 2 logs, the one before I switched to BenQ and the HP300i log. Thanks and sorry so long!

This file is the Sonic Solutions CD Burning Ripping engine used by Winamp. Have you always had this software installed, or it is something you just put on?

I'm not familiar with the Sonic program at all. However I finally got my burner working and found the problem. I pulled up Windows Task Manager and ended all processes not pertinent. Afterwards bingo, a new backup! Only problem is finding the program causing this. I'm not 100% sure but I believe it's my anti-virus software Trend Micro. I recently switched to it from Norton 2002 because it was more update.
Have you ever heard of this? And thanks for all your help!

Yes I have heard of it, although it is quite rare.

May I suggest AVG Anti-Virus. It works great and updates almost everyday. - http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5
