NTSC HDD on PAL PS2

Yeah. Well on Saturday I picked up a copy of FFXI+HDD for my PS2. This was as American import as it won't been released here on PS2.
My game won't work and I know that I'll probably need to get a ModChip for it to play but I was wondering if the ModChip will make the HardDisk drive work too because it doesn't show up on the PS2 Browser.

With a modchip it should allow u to play the NTSC game....the bad thing is that , depending on the modchip DNAS will catch u and ban u....but I wish u luck.

There are many chips, and I am sure, as many opinions. I dont know the BEST...I can only give my opinion. The only chip I have ever used and had no problems with it whatsoever..DMS3
