Since the company that made DVD X Copy went out of business, is there a way to get an activation code to reinstall a program. My computer carsh and I still have the ID and password

Try over at the Xcopy Forum, they have the info on contacting Xcopy International for activation.

You might want to think about trying different programs, Xcopy is an old program it is no longer updated and cannot do newer protected movies. There are free programs that work better and do the same job. DVD Shrink that will compress/transcode and rip some movies. DVD Decrypter that will rip and burn, and DVD Fab Decrypter that will rip all movies that are out and is updated. If you want pay programs then try AnyDVD which will break the encryption on all movies and its companion program CloneDVD which will compress/transcode and burn your movie. There is a 21 day free trial of these programs. All are available at http://www.filepedia.com. All the guides and info you need for the programs are available here
