Your asking for a lot of work. It is possible, but you lose a lot of quality in your game. Also, you would need a modchip to play the game.

Yeah I wouldn't begin to know how to do that. I feel for ya. I didn't have a DVD burner for the longest, now I have one on loan from a friend. The BenQ1640 is supposed to reliable and is around $40. Sly how would you burn a DVD to CD-R? This came up along time ago in a thread with Prince of Persia: Sands of Time.

I would say you would need to extract the contents of the iso and remove any unnecessary files like subtitles, etc, then repack the iso and that would reduce the size enough to burn it to cd-r.

yep, you have to take out extras, and either remove or downsample the movies. I had to do it for gran turismo 4, but that was just shrinking it so it would fit on DVDr.

1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://www.angelfire.com/games6/easytutorial/dvddec/dvddec.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.

2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341
If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, etc.

3. Q. Do I need some type of mod to play PS2 backups or imports?
A. Yes you need a modchip: http://teammodders.com/ps2_mc.php?ex=2 Swap Magic: http://swapmagic3.com/ Memory Card Exploit (Doesn't work with v.11 PS2 and later): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109289 HD Loader: http://www.hdloader.com.au/hardinstall#prepare or
