I'm not sure if this question has already been asked. I'm new to backing up games. When a put a ps2 game in my dvd burner it doesn't reconize the disk. Does anyone know what the problem could be?
no, a dvd burner should have no problem reading a PS2 game
which is DVD-Rom.
What game is it? Are you sure it is DVD based?
What program are you using to read it?
And i know this is a dumb question too, but are you
sure you have a DVD Burner?
I had the same problem with my dvd drive. I could read dvd movies, but not ps2 games. I updated my firmware and havn't had a problem since. Search for your model number and firmware in google and see if there are any updates. If you can find an update from the manufacturer, I'd get that one.
Thanks for all the help. I did search for fimware on google and I'm not sure what version my drive has. Can anyone tell how I can find it on my computer?
Go to "My Computer" and right click on the drive that you want to know the model number of. Go to "Properties" at the bottom of the popup menu.
A window will open. Click on the tap that says "Hardware." There you will see a list of all the drives you have installed in your computer along with their model numbers.
Get the model number for the drive in question, and do your search in google.
I updated my firmware and was able to rip a iso of ps2 game. Now for some reason my cd-rw is giving me problems when I try to play a normal game. It gives me an error saying to please insert the game disk. Could this be from flashing my dvd drive?
I would like to thank you for all your help. This is the first time I have used this type of site. I did find the problem with my cd-rw, when I flashed my drive and rebooted the system it gave my cd a different drive letter. Thanks again.
I'm glad you got the help you needed man. The forums here are great for all types of info, not just for ps2s... Stick around, I'm sure there are lots of cool things you can learn from the site.
