Anybody have any luck backing up a game to DVD+R DL media?

I just bought a dual layer burner. Successfully backed up a movie to a Verbatim DVD+R DL disk, and it played back fine in my standalone player, but not in my Xbox. Before I attempt to back up a game to one of these $3 disks, I wanted to know if anybody else had had success using DL DVDs to back up games. If so, what brand media?
