I have a backup of the game, but
it froze before the first battle.
I can hear sound though but I can't move.
Does anyone know if it's possible to burn
a backup of FFX which won't freeze
while playing the game?

could you give us some details first? Like what media are you using, what speed are you burning at, which burning program, and what kind of mod are you using in your system?

Although I don't know your details yet, from what you wrote in your post, I'd take a guess and say maybe burn at a lower speed with good quality media if you're not doing so already.

Thx for the reply.
I use the swap method.
It's the international edition NTSC, jap.
I always burn at the lowest speed.

I've searched the internet and found
that some people have the same problem
(freeze of screen at cutscenes).
I thought that it could be the game.

Btw, have you actually burned a working backup of FFX?

I use Nero 6, is DVD Decrypter better?
I always used Nero for burning without any problems.

But I assume you have a working backup of FFX.
From the search on internet I can say
that people who have this problem
haven't solved it yet.

Yup, I have made a perfect working version of FFX. Haven't played that game in a while but I still have the backup I made and it's still in perfect running order. Also have FFX-2 and that also had no problems.

Do what Tokijin said in the previous post. Try that out. Make sure you use good media!!

I do have a working version of FFX-2.

Can you tell me some good media?
I've never tried a DVD-R. I don't know if it depends
on the version of the ps2, but is it possible to run DVD-R on a ps2?

As far as I know, all versions of the ps2 can run -R's. It's the +R's that depending on the version may or may not read the game.

The media I use is Ritek (also known sometimes as Ridata). Been using them since I made my very first backup and have never switched media ever. Great quality. Check the sticky link at the top of this forum. There's one talking specifically about media types and which ones are good/bad.
