half-used DVD_R Disk

Using DVD Shrink, I encountered an error and the backup couldn't finish recording on the DVD_R disk. If I try again, I have to use a new, blank DVD_R disk, right? I can't try to use one that got half-recorded on? Same thing happened with DVD Encrypter. I'm new at this so not sure what's going wrong and I didn't write down the error message. Any ideas? I have Windows XP and believe I also downloaded the recommended SCSI or something like that.

Well unfortunatly you do have to use a new disc unless its a DVD RW but then it has to be erased. As for helping with your problem we will need more info on what you did, what happened, and what movie you used.

That's what I thought about the 'R' - you can only record once. RW you can rewrite or add to a disk. As for the error, I don't recall. I believe I was trying to record Escanaba in Da Moonlight. I did finally get it to work, but don't ask me how. Thanks for the answering.
