I'm trying to do the mem card exploit by plugging my hdd into my computer and using Winhiip. It was all going fine until I tried to connect the ps2 to the computer with an FTP program. I got some error message and in the tutorial it siad if you are using a router (which I am) you may need to change some settings. Anyone know what I can do?

It would be more helpful if you give us what the error messages were, rather than just saying "I got some error message".

It's probably that you need to change your gateway IP address in the config file.

It's wierd, I just get 'Unable to connect' every now and then, but most of the time ot works...

If it doesn't happen all the time then the settings are fine. It could be a faulty ethernet cable, or possibly your router loses its connection at times.

I would try a different cable and if it still happens, then reset the router the next time it happens and see if that fixes it.
