depending on your isp, newsgroups, they offer full bandwidth downloads, much faster than p2p programs like kazaa and dc

never tried irc.

Well you have to get something like mIRC. Then connect to a server like efnet and join trading channels, loads of different channels are there like mp3 channels and divx/vcd/svcd channels. most of the movies released on the net are on irc first!

direct connect is the way much easier then waiting around in a queue on irc :)

Oh ye it is but on IRC you can get things much quicker (i mean from when they were released) than on DC. =)
