why no dvd-r posts allowed?

I am new to this forum and I do not own a dvd burner. I was curioue as to why dvd-r posts are a no-no. Can somebody clue me in?

This a dvd ripping only forum so questions should be related to RIPPING problems and other frameserving issues.

dvd-r is a media format so obviously burning, authoring, editing, re-encoding would relate to this type of media so therefore it would not be a RIPPING issue.

Heh but it's nice to see people are reading the rules and also enquiring about them.
