Is my swap magic 3.6 defective?

i just got swap magic 3.6 and the slide card and i keep getting "not a valid PS2 disc".. it just makes a bunch of rhythmic loud humming noises and stops.. i thought it might have just been that my backup was burnt wrong... but when i try to load in an original ps2 game into the swap magic DVD loader... it does the same humming thing and says "Not a valid PS2 disc".. it doesnt play backup games or real original games.. so i was wondering if my swap magic was defective

never mind... i thought i locked the tray after putting it back in but it didnt lock all the way... its working now thnx ^_^
