PowerDVD crashes after Windows XP Service Pack 2 Install

I have used PowerDVD v4.0 with no problem for a long time. I recently installed Windows XP Service Pack 2 and now the program either crashes immediately after opening or begins to "load" the DVD and then crashes. Has anyone else had this problem, and do you know how to fix it.

The obvious solution would be to uninstall Windows XP Service Pack 2, but I needed to install it to get some drivers that are apparently embedded in the service pack for my mp3 player. I would rather not have to choose between having a working DVD program and my MP3 player. Any way to make PowerDVD work with service pack 2?
