Hi there,

First of all , sorry for being the long post , i just wanted to clarify the issue

I have Benq 1620 pro DVD (+,-) R , am every time i try to burn something to a DVD-R , the drive ejects it and i have an error message that differs with the software am using for burning, here are the erros i got

1- With Nero 7 : It says ( disk empty , and asks me to insert one ) though the disk is there.

2- With WinXP pro , sometimes it even fails to create an image of the copied files giving an error , or if it copies them , it still asks me to insert a disk.

3- With CopytoDvD , it says ( Incompatible format ) , and advice me to try another brand.

So , apparently its a media compatibllity !! Here is the wierd thing , nero burns iso files perfectly on the same DVD-Rs !!

I just bought this burner , and want your advice , coz if its something in the burner itself i shall deliver it back.

Am trying to access benq's website to search for a firmware upgrade , but it isnt opening with me at all. www.benq.us

So any other alternatives for trusted firmwares ?

Any help is appreciated

Thanks for your time and effort

regards

I used a program called ( Discinfo ) and it shows at " region protection ----> Lock detected " , does region protection has anything to do with my problem ?

Could anyone give me a glimpse of the region protection plz ?

thanks

@ Creaky ,

Am aware not to duplicate posts , i first posted here in the DVD burning forum describing the whole issue , mentioning all the results i had from different tests , but when i had the Nero log i thought i might be more specific and post it in the nero's forum. Am just clarifing.

Cheers
