Hello all....I have a newbie question for all you smarties out there. I have added another hard drive to my computer just to store my movies on so that I can just use the remote for the Dell Media Center to play them without having to insert a disc. What my question is what do I have to convert the freshly decrypted files over to for the media center to be able to recognize and play the files? Also what program would I need to do this and where can I get it from?? Thankyou ahead of time!!!

First what program(s) are you using to decrypt the movies?

Next if the file are already on your computer it should be able to detect them Im not sure I don't use Dell Media Center, but if not you may have to find a proggy that supports files.

I use DVD Decrypter to put it on my hard drive. I was finally able to use DVDx 2.3 to convert the file to MPEG2 format which Dell Media Center does read but now my problem is that it broke the movies up into thirds and it is in 3 different files. So you watch one file which shows you about 30 minutes of the movie and then you have to open the next file and such. Any ideas how to correct this?

Once the files are on your hard drive you shouldn't have to use any other program DMC should locate them. Or use another file viewing program like,

this one supports almost any video format.

Also, in DVDx 2.3 in the settings do not choose to split the files to fit a CD that is why you have 3 part to the movie, so it must be a long long movie, or you are trying to preserve quality.

I don't know where exactly but there should be a setting displaying the size of the CD you want to fit the movie on, find it and set it to none.
