I am very new to this stuff and need some basic advice.
What is the best format for burning? DVD -R or +R?
I just burned a movie with a Fujifilm DVD-R. It was ripped with DVDdecrypter and then sized with Dvdshrink and burned with Roxio.
It would not play on my brand new Samsung DVD recorder but it played just fine on my old RCA DVD player? What gives?
I am considering getting Anydvd ot Dvdcloner II? Any opinions on either?

The diff between +/- is very simple. - will be more compatable with most players in general, but + can be booktyped (changed) to DVD ROM, which is the universal booktype and can be read by all players. It is also an issue of compatibilty, not all burners can booktype and your burner might not be able to write both formats. Fujifilm is ok but it has to be "Made in Japan". What movie are you trying to burn, and could you give me a little more detail about it not playing? Also what is you burner and it's model.

I am trying to burn a disk of several epidodes of "Rescue Me". The Fuji disks are made in Taiwan.
I burned the iso file after it was shrunk and my Samsung said "No disk" and did not play, but my RCA didn't even blink and played it fine.
I am using a Lacie d2 USB 2.0/FW DVD +-
