Hi, I hope someone here can help me, I'm getting a bit desperate.

I own a Sony Vaio VGN-A290 Laptop, with a Sony DVD RW DW-D56A burner that came with it. Until the other day, I always used BenQ DVD-R 4X media, that worked just fine. The other day I purchased a stack of BenQ DVD-R 8X media, and I was unable to burn to them, kept getting the same error message (below is the log file created by Nero). I tried updating nero, and even bought a stack of DVD-R 8X media made by a different firm (Silver Line) but they didn't work either. Sony support say that the burner should be compatible with DVD-R and DVD+R 8X media, but it doesn't seem to be working. As I said, I can burn DVD-R 4X media, but they don't seem to be manufacturing them any more, and I'm on the last ones.

Has anyone had this problem? Can you tell me what to do to fix it? this really sucks, and I'm getting more and more frustrated (and wasting money on media that don't work...).

I would really appreciate any help you guys can give. Thanks.

Here is the error log created by Nero -

You have Nero's INCD packet writing installed, you have to get rid of this. To do so you need to download Nero's own cleantool, from there site, to completly rid your system of this. Then you have to reinstall but this time choose to not install INCD.

Whenever you do a video backup, shut down all unnecesary programs like Virus,Firewall, and whatever other goodies you got that you can easily shut down. If you can get that number up over 500MB free, you'd be a bit better off.
