Hey folks. I'm gonna list a few problems I'm having getting the mobile phone tools to work. I've already read up on how to install the tools and everything, trust me.

1) The USB modem device doesn't show up in the Device Manager.
2) I've upgraded to 3.4 and it still can't detect my Razr properly; it goes through the long scanning process and such, but at the end it just restarts and says I need to 'install my phone' again. If I click no, it comes up with that annoying default phone, says it can't find an image, and stays on 'Initializing' forever.

At first, I thought the problem was due to not updating, even though I tried and got some sort of decompression error when installing the updates. After that, I just downloaded 3.4 and installed it instead of using Live Update. Yet I still run into the same problems. Does anyone have any idea how I can get these tools to work properly?

If it isn't showing the modem the driver installation did not occur properly...I believe this should be done prior to installing MPT.

I would suggest uninstalling MPT completely, then get this pack...not my upload, but it should have a webpage in it that can help you or at least direct u to further information.

Basically after uninstalling MPT, I would think you'd

restart computer > connect cable to computer > connect cable to phone > point the wizard to the USB drivers that are included in the pack above > let it install > then reinstall MPT
