I was thinking of buying a second unit but wanted to know which, if any, of the other brands of units have a Macrovision hack. I already know about the ILO 04. Are there any others? Thanks in advance.

Thank you. Can you tell me which stores carry those or where on the web to find them?
Thanks again.

I understand that the LiteOn 5005x is a rebaged ilo r04 with the 04 case. which some like better, I understood that the features were the same as the LiteOn 5005, but I dont know for sure.
PS I looked at some of the sites posted but I didn't see an answer.
If the 5005x were the same as the ilo R04 than why couldn't the hack. for the 04 be used. or is LiteOn a no hack firmware on the 500x

I just posted this in a new thread, but wanted to post it in this one too for anyone interested that reads this thread.

This may already be posted here. If it is forgive me. I just found out about these 2 products. They will bypass macrovision protection so that you can back up your personal store bought DVDs and VHS thus eliminating the need to buy LiteOn and ILO. Hmm, interesting, though I already own an ILO04 and have ordered a LiteOn that hasn't arrived yet. Wish I'd seen these before. This opens some new doors for options for us to back up our personal products.

Have seen your other post
Have you used one of these products. I have tried similar products in the past.
Stick with a hacked LiteOn/ilo, Or follow [catfreek] procedure if not wanting to hack them.

No, I've never tried it yet. I'm curious if anyone else has though. Thanks for your input.
