Hey guys, I modded a V1 NSTC/UC PS2 with a Magic 3.1 and it plays only Original games.

I changed it to Ripper IV and it plays none, but brings me to the browse screen saying "Playstation 2 DISC" but does not boot anyhow.

I did not solder the S point for both the chip, because i cant separate the 2 motherboards of the V1.

Did it cause the boot sequence to fail? because I thought i read that the 'S' point is only needed for PSX backups.

i would go find some instructions on those chips at
a mod chip site to see how it should have been installed
if you have already and you did it that way then it should
work as long as the chip says it will work in a V1
