I do not know anyone that has a modified PS2 in order to "independance
exploit" my PS2 (which I am still, of course, in the process of learning
about.) Can I transfer these files onto my 16 MB Pen Drive that came with my Action Replay Max and manipulate my MC with them?
Upon completion of this exploit, is it true that I will be able to play most retro emulators other than the Sega Genesis emu that came with the Action Replay Max cd as well as backups of PS2 games. Perhaps even back-ups of PS1 games?
Thanks in advance.

Thank you kindly for the tutorial. I did everything in the tutorial step by step. I could not find IDGET anywhere (most of the links were messed for the downloads I needed but found them elsewhere) but managed getting my "trigger" disc ID from exploring it on my PC. I used Titleman frontend to make my Title.Db and included it in the PS2save program (following every detail). transferred the exploit.max I compiled to my pen drive. Okay, I started my PS2, put ARMAX and the pen drive in to it.
I selected the Memory Manager and selected My Devices. It says Choose Primary Device so I selected my USB flash drive. It loads the device contents from my USB flash drive to display NEW FILE?? (what about exploit.max?). Anyways the file size seems to be consistent albeit the name. I checkmark NEW FILE and go to Uncrush file to MC1. It reads it and begins to write..stops suddenly and says NEW FILE is already uncrushed. What the one attempt that I previously made will not be overwritten, but that one failed (can't find any way to reverse my mistake). I put several "trigger" discs in (after using Title.db + 800 games) to have them load up normally without seeing the LaunchElf screen that I am supposed to. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

If you want the correct name then copy your system configuration file to your flash drive and open that with savebuilder so that you have history and icon.sys now add your exploit files to that and save over your old file. Then using ARMAX delete your system configuration from Memory Card and copy the new one from flash drive.
Now load up your PS1 trigger disc.
It should now load up your BOOT.ELF

Recheck the tutorial. It tells you to rename the NEW_FILE to BADATA-SYSTEM for NTSC PS2s. That should solve your problem.
