I could talk pros and cons but the best would be for you to use Clone2's 21 day trial and see for your self. Don't forget X-Copy is $130+ and the Anydvd/Clone2 combo is only $49 right now.
http://www.slysoft.com/en/ Personally I think Clone2 is an excellent program while X-Copy is a real dogs breakfast.
I agree with PPower. I've only ran across one dvd in the last 3 months that DVD Decrypter would not rip (new sony encryption). Personally I would use DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink becouse there FREE. Im sure eventually I will be using AnyDVD and clondvd when all else fails. If you know how to use BitTorrent you can download AnyDVD and CloneDVD from ther too.
CloneDVD 2 is a good program however; it won't decrypt your DVD. You also need AnyDVD (made by the same folks as CloneDVD 2) to decrypt the movie before you burn it to DVD using CloneDVD 2,
Eric
I have used both programs - CloneDVD2 is newer and more up to date, and actual easier to use - and x copy was pretty easy to use back in the day but really it is so outdated and is more of a headache than anything else these days.
if u dont already have x-copy do not buy it, they dont update it anymore as far as dvd protection goes. if u already have it u could try runnind dvd 43 or AnyDVD in back. ive read where this works for some and not for others.make sure u dont have DVD43 and AnyDVD installed at the same time. im not sure if DVD43 can handle the latest protection like the sony across on lords of dog town. when i first found this site(ad) i was using xcopy platinum. then i got a movie from wallmart called resident evil and xcopy was not up to the challenge. thats when i found ad. once i had AnyDVD xcopy would copy it fine. i havent used xcopy in the last 8 or 9 mos. so i dont know if it works with the latest sony or not. but during my time at ad ive found some really great apps. dvddecrypter,shrink,dvdfabdecrypter,dvdclone2,AnyDVD, and lets not forget Nero. these are what i use now most of the time, except when i find a movie that i really like then i use dvd rebuild and CCE.
