I have a swapmagic problem plz help!

I have just purchased a swapmagic set with a flip top

i installed the fliptop and tryed to run swapmagic(dvd)
when it loaded ir asked for its video mode the choices were NTSC PAL and Normal. I tried NTSC and Normal for a japanese game. When i started, it brought me to the ps2 browse screen, the a playstation 2 disc popped up, so i decided to click it. then it brought me back to the browse screen.

WHat am i doing wrong.

Can i play jap games?
Am i using the wrong media (sony and memorex)
IT IS NOT THE WRITTING SPEED
Did i load the game wrong

Questions:

Will this happen with US games?
Should i even bother trying?
Is this possible to be fixed?

PLEASE HELP ME!

If this is truly a japanese game then it is PAL (I do not know much about PAL games). When it asks for the video mode, that is when you are supposed to switch the swap magic for the backed up disc and press x or square on the load program button, viola, you have your loaded game.

No Japanese Games are in NTSC video format, the same as is used here in the U.S. PAL is if for Europe. Your probably not burning your backups correctly. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/252193
