Howdy guys!

I'm new to backing up games and I just downloaded Alcohol 120 last night.

I went out the other day and bought Battlefront 2 the CD-ROM version and used A-Ray scanner to find out it had a SecuROM 7 protection on it.

My question is,
How do I make up a back-up copy of the game?

PS: I don't care if I have to use another burned CD or no CD to play it, I just don't want to use the original disk.

Thanks!

well -ASUpiloT-.....I have no luck at all making a backup of Battlefront 2, some people say they have made a working backup using AL120 but I have had ZERO luck. Maybe -delafoo- can help you with this, search for his/her name and ask away.

I will keep an eye on this thread for any new ideas.

Well, for some reason, I think my other thread was deleted... probably got too off topic, or had too many pirate posts from people who don't actually own the game...

It sounds like you do... Use Alcohol 120% to back up your CDs using the Image Making Wizard, When you click the Image Making Wizard, a window will pop up... on the bottom left under the 'data type' drop down menu, select Securom NEW 4.*,5.*, in the upper right drop down menu under the CD/DVD device, select the drive you will be recording from, and under Read Speed, set it to Maximum.

Click the Next button on the bottom right. Under Image name It should automatically say something like BF_1 for disc one, BF_2 for disc 2 etc. You can leave this as is. Under the image location, select an area you'll know where to find the images... if you have no preference, create a folder on your desktop, and select this folder as your save folder..., then click the Start Button and it'll burn the images to your hard drive. Repeat for all 4 discs.

Once done, you can install the game from the images... only mount one image at a time. . . While installing, do not install the Fire Find program to see your friends, do not install gamespy, and do not register. (You can still play online, it will install gamespy post installaton).

Once you have BF2 installed, google searh for this exact phrase sr7.stop. A few links from the top will have a website with dvdhardware.net in its name... click on this link, go to the bottom of the page and click Download: SR7.Stop Its a little hard to see, bottom, left ish.

Save it to your desktop, open it (its zipped so you'll need an unzipping program if you don't have one... there's a free one at winace.com). Once unzipped, you'll see the .exe file on your destop. Double click it. You may get some warning like 'do you want to open this file' or other, clic yes.

Once open, click Hide all drives. If it says No drives to Hide, click Restore, then reclick Hide all drives. Once the little window it has fills up with "hidden SCSI ..." then CLOSE sr7.stop. You need only run it ONCE each time your PC is turned on, not each time you play the game.

Now you can double click the shortcut which should be on your desktop to bf2, or click start, All programs, Lucas Arts, StarWars Battlefront II, Play Starwars Battlefront 2.

To keep this post active, hopefully everyone will keep it to this topic, don't post CD-KEYS, Cracks etc!

There are now also trainers that allow you to cheat for this game... very helpful for some parts of the game, reply if you need these!

Enjoy

Alright I finally made a working copy.

1) Use Alcohol 120 and burn the first disk on secuROM 4 or 5 on MAXIMUM speed

2) Use SR7.stop, hide virt. drives, then exit SR7.Stop

3) Mount image of disk 1 and it should work
