I've tried a couple times to make a backup copy of this movie and both times the movie will not play on my dvd player and will not run on my dvdrom on my pc as well.
1st i used dvd shrink and burned it in .iso mode in decrypter. finished fine but just would not play at all.
2nd i used fabdecrypter, then shrink, and then decrypter in .iso mode and still the same thing.
haven't had any problems w/my dvds until now. been using memorex dvd+r's. wonder what i should try next.

Try AnyDVD running in the background while ripping with DVD Shrink...then burn with DVD Decrypter. Still waiting to try this movie out, so I haven't done it yet but this will be my method.

At present time, the general rule is that Memorex blank media can not be trusted. They will probably ID as CMC MAG discs. If so they are very poor quality blanks and can cause the problem you are having. Best bet would be to try a well know brand of blanks like TY, Verbatim or Ritek. that should help.

It is also recommended that with the lesser quality media that burns be slowed down to 4x or less. This will help, and set a target size of 4300 to keep from burning too close to the edge. Once the memosux are gone DON'T buy them again. For the same price you can buy quality media.

I can't get it to work either. I've tried Decrypter, Shrink and Clone DVD, with AnyDVD running in the background, for all three of them. None of them will even analize it. Shrink stops at 99% with 1 second to go. Clone stops at 99%, and Decrypter doesn't get that far, but close to it. I took the first movie back, and got another. They both did the exact same thing!
Christmas with the Kranks worked beautifully............

I backed up my daughters copy of Charlie and the Chocolate factory with both Recode 2, and Rebuilder Pro/CCEBasic. Burned one copy with Nero video files folder and another copy with ImgBurn Iso (From Rebuilder)...media used Taiyo Yuden 02's at 4x, and FuJi's +R (made in Japan...code as TY's o2's at 6x with Imgburn and book typed to Dvd-Rom.)
@krob112, Have you tried burning the video files (rather than Iso image) after shrink? I have AnyDVD in the background and I never have any issues with backups. I actually had some Memorex that are MCC, not CMC and used them in the beginning, but with the wisdom of the team at ad I quickly became a Ty, Verb, and Fufi & Sony (Made in Japan) media guy. Try the video file burn...better media and 4x speed. Confirm that the Standalone can play your media as well.

AnyDVD 5.5.1.1
DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0
DVD Shrink 3.2
These current versions will not let me get past the 99% mark of the analysing.

Ok............. I figured out MY problem with it.
I was wondering what I hadn't tried? So, Instead of using my DVD Rom to read the original, I let my burner read, as well as burn. It worked fine, with Shrink, Nero and AnyDVD !
My 5-6 month old BenQ 16X DVD Rom was the culprit. I'll try a couple more newer movies, in the next couple of weeks. If it still has problems, it will be replaced under warranty. I've already told the computer store I got it from.......
It was driving me crazy! I'm glad I finally figured it out! I HATE when something won't work right!
