I just bought Verbatim DVD-R 16x. The code is below. Is this the one or should I return it?

Yes you have the correct media. MCC dye is high quality.

at what speed do you recommend for burning, because it keeps skipping on my ps2? I tried it at 4x.

i would suggest 8X media and not 16X
If 4X and 1X don't work you may try 8X
since those are a much higher speed than i would ever use
i really don't know. BUt the normal is to burn them at
half the speed that is on the DVD

He has the same discs that i first bought for my ps2 backups, i burn them at 6x, thats the lowest speed my drive will allow for that particular media. All of my backups have been flawless. I recently bought Taiyo Yudens and find them to be of better quality than even Verbatim.

I tried 4x and 2x. Both are not working. I guess I'll try 6x now. What a waste.

you'll get it sooner or later, although it suck to have to waste
DVD's until you get the right combo of speed and media.
once you find one that works each time, stick to it like glue
baby!
I use only Philips 8X DVD-R
works every time, never a bad back up.

i recommmended burning at 2.4x u don't ned to worry about error at this speed plus really u don't want to have a coaster since DL is pretty expensive.

Yes, burn 8X media at 4X
Taiyo Yuden,Ritek,Verbatim,TDK, & Philips
those are the most commonly used media brands.
I use the Philips 8X DVD-R all the time and they have
worked great for me. But it all depends on wht your
burner and PS2 like.

hey I just checked mine and I have Manufacturer ID: [MBIPG101]
can you please tell me if this is any good cause i got a 200 pack of imation and 5 backups i already made aren't working right. Long loading some won't work at all. Please

I'm not even close to being an expert, but I heard that Imation is a very cheap brand. I wouldn't not spend my hard earned money on those.

you are correct, Imation is medium grade media, surely not on the top of my list that i would buy. but i had a friend
and when he started out that is what he used and got working copies,
sometimes. you will just get problems with a lot of audio/video
glitches and it will wear out the laser earlier than good media.

media guide
some companies outsource their production so it can be hard to tell
what you are getting even from the same company. But things to look for are brands made in Japan that use MCC dye.
so i never suggest buying them in packs that large unless you know
you are getting them from a store that doesn't sell fakes.
Or you have a brand like my Philips 8X DVD-R that you have used
for years and worked every time.
You can always save the Imation and use them for movies if you can not get the games to work, they will work fine for movies.
