ok i was told about an xbox mod i was wondering if someone could tell me what mod it is.. ok this mod allows you to directly install xbox games onto your system and from what i heard allows you to play ps2 games on your xbox too... not sure about the ps2 part but i'm really interested on being able to install my games onto my system because i hate having to drag my games along with my system (i travel alot) so if anybody knows what this is or how to achive this please drop me a line
the best way to do that(for xbox games) is to replace the
stock hard drive with a new and much bigger one. Then you can use a program called DVD2Xbox and copy from the original DVD right to the hard drive. Then play the games right off the hard drive with
no disc needed.
I have a 300GB Western Digital drive in my xbox because i really
hate having to keep all of the DVD's. I keep a copy on the
Xbox and a copy on my PC as a back up in case i need it.
here is a tutorial on how to replace the HDD
http://www.teammodders.com/viewtopic.php?t=672 there are a lot of other usefull tutorials about FTP'ing games
from xbox to PC and the other way around.
Slayer 2.6 is great. It will format the drive, install all
kinds of useful apps, dashboards, roms & emulators on the new drive
Not sure if you have to have a modded Xbox to use it though
because mine was premodded with a DuoX2 chip
So if someone can confirm that it would help out.
it was $199 and you can get them just about anywhere.
online, Best Buy,Circuit City, CompUSA
I just got a 160GB drive on sale at Best Buy this weekend
It was $119 with $80 in mail in rebates so it will only cost
me $40 in the end. I bought a Western Digital. But i reccomend
Seagate or Maxtor. I have had some problems with the 2 Western Digital HDD's i had in my PC. Wait until black Friday (day after Thanksgiving)if you want to save money. Most store will have really great sales and early bird specials. I know CompUSA will
http://blackfriday.gottadeal.com/ 200GB Internal Hard Drive (AR) $29.99 (at CompuUSA)
that is one hell of a deal, not sure what you pay before rebates.
but a 200GB drive for $30 is beyond great.
no, you don't need that thing. If you want to change the looks
of the Xbox then fine, but there is no real reason you need
that front panel.
Instead of that i would spend that money and have a good
mod chip installed. It has much more usefulness than that
front panel ever will. Plus you may need a modded Xbox to play
games and roms from your HDD, i am not sure. Mine was
premodded when i bought it.
Look around the site i linked you to for more info.
they can mod it for you if you want a chip.
