Smart ripper in German? Alternative?

Hello,

I was planning to use Smart Ripper to start the conversion of my DVD to a VCD format as per the Guide. However, the exe file seems to be created in Greman. When I try to install it, all I see is German words (which I can't follow). Hence I don't plan to install it.

Is there an alternate software that can do the work of Smart Ripper? Can I simply use DVD Decrypter instead and go onto the second step in the Guide (using DVD2AVI)?

What is special about Smart Ripper that the Guide writer suggested it's use? What files does it create and can those files be created by another tool?

Guide: DVD to VCD with SmartRipper, DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc.
