they may be. I only use the -R myself but have used TDK
-R with good success.
The Sony should be fine if they say Made In Japan on the pack.
If you burn the +R and don't have any luck do a search on these forums for the word "booktype"
using DVD Decrypter and a burner that will let you do it you
can set the booktype to DVD-Rom and get better results.
