I am having choppy, stuttering audio and video playback when playing DVD?s. I had a Creative Ensoniq PCI soundcard that worked OK with DVD playback using PowerDVD 5.0 software. I recently installed the M-audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard. The audio is good when recording and playback on Cakewalk Music Creator 2. Cd's seem to play fine. My only problem is playing DVDs on PowerDVD 5.0. I have contacted PowerDVD tech support. The suggestions they gave me didn't work. I am waiting on a tech support reply from M-audio.
So far I have done this:
DMA is enabled
Video card driver updated
DVD ROM driver updated
DVD Rom firmware updated
PowerDVD 5.0 uninstalled and reinstalled
PowerDVD 5.0 latest patch installed
Sound card driver updated
Sound card removed and switched to different PCI slot.
I have deleted and reinstalled the DVD ROM drive
I have disabled unused ports in BIOS
I have removed running programs in systray and task manager
But, I have not changed the drive configuration: I believe the CD drive is master and DVD is slave.
Any help would be greatly appreciated since I have run out of options.
