Since everyone here seems to be well versed within this and other fields, I would like to present my topic to thee, even though its two different topics. I know how to mount and burn an image on to a blank disc, I use Alcohol 120%. But my whole problem is with my DVD+CD-RW Combo Drive. When I insert a written disc, say swap magic, it fully recognizes it and I can access it no problem. Now, the whole hell-raising part about it is when I insert my blank TDK DVD+R disc. It acts like it is going to read it but then there is no command prompt (to burn) like I would get for a CD-R HP-Invent blank disc or a Memorex CD-RW blank disc. Now only that, it was like I never even inserted a disc into my computer in the first place. And now my reaction is of course WTH. I'm trying to see whether or not the swap magic disc version 3.6 can read burned TDK DVD+R discs while it can't read a blank one with its "Not a Valid PS2 Disc" Hullaballou. Beforehand I tried using a burned CD-R (700 MB) and it was no good. So now my one and only purpose in life is to get to the bottom of this dastardly thing before I go insane. Do you believe it is because that I am not using a TDK DVD-R or what exactly do I need to do to rectify this issue. Thank you x 1,000.

jeeez...I'm also having an extremely tough time trying to comprehend what you're trying to say, but if I'm reading you correctly, your drive isn't reading your TDK blanks...is that right?

When you open up "my computer" in windows does it show the blank disc in the drive?

Do you have this problem with any other brand of discs? or is it just TDK...

What kind of burner are you using? A problem may be that you have to upgrade to the latest firmware from the manufacturer.

Hope that helps...try asking your question again though...simplify it

It looks like its just the TDK discs that aren't working and your right I don't see that there is a DVD Rom in the D: Drive when using TDK DVD+R. Maybe I should be using a different type of blank disc. And for the drive I just got a new one like 2 months nearly now I guess.

if you have a combo drive then that means it can play dvds but cant burn to them.you can burn cd's though.if you have a dvd burner it wont state that it can burn to cd or be called a combo drive as it is well known that dvd burners can also burn to cd.

Oh my lord thats exactly what it is. Damned be it all.... Well with that in mind I just feel like giving up, there's no guarantee that the thing is gonna work with swap magic either. Now I have to find an external driver compatible with my laptop. *Walks away flustered, but then trips and falls face first in the dirt*.
