hello everybody, im new on here so please bare with the nooB questions. ok i have a jap 1.50 psp and installed UMD emulater 0.8 and im pretty sure i know how to play backups now. i just wanted to know if UMD emulator 0.8 and fastloader 0.7 do the same thing. my friend installed fastloader 0.7 on his psp and before he plays his games blue cogs appear whereas i installed UMD emulator 0.8 and green cogs appear. do these programs do the same thing, or can someone tell me which one is better. he has a feature on his fastloader screen "dump UMD" whereas i have not with UMD Emulator. or can both these progrmas be put on my memory stick and used together. cheers

is it true that fastloader can be used to rip games and UMD emulater cant

thanks in advance

Er... I haven't try Fastloader as I do not have any UMD. How sad... Fastloader loads almost everything, though it needs a UMD.

As for UMD Emulator, I still need a UMD, but if you use it with Device Hook, UMD is not needed. (So, I'm using it) Till now, I haven't get any errors or bugs with UMD Emulator, so I think it's the best.

UMD Emulator is a recommendation for a PSP v1.50. (whose owner wanna play games off their MS)

Er... ...

Device Hook is a homebrew that able to "hook" a virtual UMD onto your PSP and its compatibility is so bad.

With support of UMD Emulator, it will be able to run most of the games...

How to do this? Simply use UMD Emulator and choose(by pressing "X") an ISO that you like (with system menu mode). After doing this, you'll return to the PSP main screen, then choose devhook. Select any ISO and it'll run the ISO that you've chose in UMD Emulator.

About Device Hook? You can download it from http://www.psp-hacks.com

Thanks tho krazylokiller777, he taught me how to run this. /heh

It will be much easier if you give me your address(Messsenger's).

Ok well, that FW 10 is for PSP v1.0 and FW 15 is for PSP 1.5.

SO what you need to do is copy EVERYTHING inside the folder (one of the two) to your PSP's root (PSP's directory, e.g. E:\).

Then, copy an UMD ISO to ISO dir in your root dir...

Run UMD EMU through your PSP. THen just follow what I've said...

Good luck.

I tried that hook up on ghost in the shell and got it to work, im using emulator 0.7 but after a I play a bit the music cuts off and im just left with the sound. Is there anyway I can stop this from happening?
My psp is v2 with an artifical downgrade to 1.5.

Fastloader and UMDemulator is the same program designed by the same person.
UMDemulator is the more update version giving users more options. Humma Kuvula quit after UMD v.8c
There are many rumors that he was gettin threats from sony, which is in my opinion bullshit, because look at how many emus are out now and nothin is happening to those coders.
But none the less. Thats your answer Fastloader 'vs' UMD emu.

And as for you vip_rv, you just take the emu and put UMD EMULATOR in the root folder and the other two folders with the eboots go in the PSP/Game folder of your memory stick
