You need two things. First: Purchase an Epson R300 Direct to CD/DVD printer. You can get one this week from CompUSA for $79.99 which is less than most have paid for their R200 printers. Check it out at:
http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?product_code=307...
Second: You need some really good 8X White InkJet Hub Printable DVD-R meida. You can get them at:
DVD-R-dvdr-8x-47gb-white-inkjet-hub-printable-blank-dvd-media-in-50-100-300-and-600-pack-in-cake-box-group-1666.htm" class="korostus" target="_blank">http://www.allmediaoutlet.com/allmedia/high-speed-DVD-R-dvdr-8x-4...
for about 25 cents each. Although they are listed as: High-Speed DVD-R (DVDR) 8X 4.7GB White Inkjet Hub Printable Blank DVD Media
DVD Identifier v4.2.0 identifies the discs as: Taiyo Yuden TY02 which when sold under the Taiyo Yuden brand name run about 65 cents each.
I have been using the High-Speed media for about 6 months and almost never create a coaster.

Sorry for confusion.
I meant that I will order/buy as many as they would allow...
The quote that I attached was posted by someone else and I found his comments interesting. I was just wondering if anyone else had purchased/used/tested the media that he refered to?
Sold at www allmediaoutlet com
Brand name of "High-Speed"
Allegedly they were identified as TY02.
Thanks.

FAKE TYS~!! stay away~! :)
do a search with my name and FAKE Taiyo Yuden and you will find me talking at lengths about them~ :)
whoever told you that about the "TYG02" coding OBVIOUSLY doesn't know how to discern AUTHENTIC Taiyo Yudens from FAKE ONES~ the "High-Speed" are DEFINITELY FAKE~!

@thelox714
i "outsourced" to my friends from other states that COULD get them locally without having to wait...so, yes, i did...they picked them up, i paid them back + shipping costs to get them to me~ :) it's good to have friends in other states that are willing to me a favor, so, it's all good for me~ :) call me crazy, but, including the ONE pack of DLs and some 100 pack spindles i got for myself here locally...very close to spending $500 in 1 week on media ALONE HAHAHAHAHAHA.

I did the following: "do a search with my name and FAKE Taiyo Yuden and you will find me talking at lengths about them~:)"
Using AfterDawn Search, I entered as search criteria: kivory666 FAKE Taiyo Yuden
And got the following results: "Your search criteria didn't match any forum messages. Try different search criteria instead."
Can you be more specific?

hi eric,
well, i didn't mean to sound condescending by asking you to use the search function, but a long story short... those "High-Speed" dvd media use the Taiyo Yuden MEDIA ID CODING, however, if my memory serves me correctly, they are MADE IN TAIWAN...this should be a dead giveaway when dealing with TY media~ :) Taiyo Yuden ONLY MANUFACTURES in JAPAN, nowhere else...
also, another SURE-FIRE way to distinguish AUTHENTIC TY media is by a laser inscribed coding near the inner hub of the actual disc...
for 4x dvd-r, the coding follows THIS format: GD000xxx (where xxx is the batch number of when it was made @ TY factory)
for 8x dvd-r, the coding follows THIS format: GG000xxx (where xxx is the batch number once again)
for 8x dvd+r, the coding follows THIS format: TG000xxx (same thing applies for the xxx portion)
that's the basics of it...but, 100% of the time, IF it is GENUINE TY media, it will ALWAYS be made in japan~ many of these smaller brands use other manufacturers to produce their media...and it's OFTEN TIMES sub par or easily labelled as "crap media" :)
i know for a FACT that the "high-speed" branded ones ARE FAKE TYs...among a few others with the TYG02 coding...for REAL ones on those, the TYG02s are the 8x dvd-r format..the hub coding will be of the GG000xxx variety on those for the REAL ones~ :)
hope that clarifies a bit...im too lazy to search for what i had said in the past...but, there you go~ :)
docTY~

I don't think Doc meant for you to put his name in there with the search. I did a search using "fake ty" as the criteria, and it listed 16 threads. Next time you do a search and it comes up with that statement, narrow your search, or re-word it. The search function is a great tool.
