k my ps2 has been acting up for the last couple weeks and seems it will play backup dvd's fine but real dvd's it skips and freezes? Plus I just got a great deal on 200 blank dvd's so I backed up 5 of my ps2 games and notta. Won't play them and when they do finaly load which takes bout 20mins they skip like crazy. I use swap magic and when needed dvd loader with a high toc game. They have worked great for me and i'm thinking that maybe I need to tuneup my ps2 and adjust the laser? I realy need help be4 I open her up and start fucking around with it. I won't pay $50 for the jack off down the block to adjust the laser and spray air in it because I should be able to do it with no problems I hope. Any suggestions? And if I have to adjust the laser is there a certin guide I should be following? Thanks everyone

here you go, it is very easy to do yourself
just make sure before you turn that white cog thing to
adjust it that you take a pen and mark where the original position is in case you need to set it back. turn it, test it,turn it, test it.
it's a process that takes some patiens but can fix disc read errors.
If after about 5-6 notches in one direction doesn't work then
set it back to original position and start turning it the oppoiste
direction this time.

As far as the DVD's you will have to say what brand they are
for anyone to tell you if they are good.
if they are just some store brand, or no-name brand then
they will most likely not be very good
also Memorex suck.

Thank you very much i'm going to try it. Plus the dvd brand is Imation. Let me know if ya can if these are a ok brand. Thanks for the fast responce

Sorry to jump in here steimy, but I couldn't let this post go by.

NO nonononononononononono... imation are crap, that's why you got a good deal on them. My advice would be to use them for movies and get some good media for your ps2 backups. Taiyo yuden, verbatim, ritek are what I use.. never had a bad burn with these..
